NQT- Would love ideas to help me set up my first classroom (Year 2)

Discussion in 'Primary' started by cnesbitt1811, Jul 15, 2015.

  1. I am starting my first post in a Year 2 class and was hoping to see if I could get some really good ideas from the TES community to help me set up my first classroom.

I would buy a few tupperware boxes with clip-on lids to keep maths resources in the middle of each table. This beats you having to get them out for the start of each lesson, and teaches children that it is normal to have and use them. Good luck with Y2!

I got mine from Tesco, but my wife says WIlkinsons are cheaper :)

What Maths resources would you have on a table? At the minute I've got:

Numberline, hundred square, multiplication square, blank numberline, blank numberline with ten steps.

    Counters, dice, Numicon, coins perhaps.

When you organize groups asign a colour to each and put a coresponding sticker around the spine of each book. It makes it easy to give out, find and organise differentiated work for each group.
