The clock has only 'started ticking' on your being able to do supply work, not when you must start induction. There is currently no time limit on when an NQT must start or finish induction. The 16 month time limit means that your 16 month allowance of supply work started ticking from the first day you did supply in October. When your 16 months are up you will only be able to be employed in inductable posts (1 term contracts or longer), until you complete your NQT induction. So don't worry, you do not have to start your NQT year by February 2013 - this is just the time when your 16 months of supply will be up. However if you haven't managed to secure a permanent job by then to start your induction, then at the moment the rules state that you can apply for an extention for up to 12 months. The induction rules might be changing later this year though, but if they do, they might not apply to those already qualified anyway. Hope that has helped!
