nqt panic

    That sounds like a daunting situation to be in - it's always hard to try and "step into somebody else's shoes". I am in a similar position this year (taking over from someone well established and well liked) and am a little daunted about "living up to expectations", so you're not the only one. Remember that you aren't an outsider - you and the Nursery teacher are a new team, and you need to take up that role with confidence! Ask for advice but don't be afraid to try different things and put your stamp on the class.
    Don't be afraid of asking questions, but if you're finding you're not retaining information, make sure to take notes. No-one will mind you asking lots of questions, as long as it's not the same ones over and over! Everyone was an NQT once and even people who've been in the job for years will remember what it's like. Try not to panic too much and, most importantly, don't lose confidence!
