NQT induction year

Discussion in 'New teachers' started by abl21, Jun 25, 2011.

  1. Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a time limit for completing the NQT Induction year once you have started? I am currently employed on a temporary contract and will have completed 2 terms of induction by July. I have not found a teaching job for September, but have an interview for a job as a School Librarian. If I was offered this post, and accepted it, I would not complete the last term of my induction. Can I go back to this and complete it at a later date? Please advise, if you know! many thanks!

  2. Hi
There is no time limit for completing induction. As you realise a school librarian is not a post in which you can complete induction, but should you secure a post for one more term (part time or full time) then you can complete inductiojn the fact that there was a break is not relevant.
