NQT doing PPA with an agency

Discussion in 'NQTs and new teachers' started by orlal, Nov 4, 2011.

  1. Hi there,
I am looking to begin my NQT year in January but have been offered PPA time in a school up until Christmas (6 weeks, through an agency). I was wondering if anyone could advise me as to if this is a better option than doing supply work in various schools for that period? I am afraid that if i take the work (eventhough it's stable) I will not get as much experience as teaching full days with classes as a supply teacher.
Any advice would be great, thanks :)

It's a regular income, though and you may come out with a good reference. If they like you, it may be a way into something better. Supply has never been reliable and there is very little available in some areas.
