    Hello everyone,
Can anyone please advise whether I would be allowed to complete my NQT induction as a prison education teacher or do I have to be in a mainstream school?
    Thanks in advance

No, it can't. See the 'Statutory Induction Guidance' (Google it) - a 'secure training centre' is specifically mentioned as an institution where induction cannot be served.

On a personal level, I don't think it is a good idea to teach in prison until you have at least a couple of years familiarity with the education system in a school. You need to apply what you know about the system to a different set of circumstances, so its best to know the system pretty well first
