NQT Advice

Discussion in 'NQTs and new teachers' started by SecondaryTeacher765, Sep 10, 2019.

  1. Hi everyone,

I'm a NQT secondary teacher following the traditional one year TIS scheme and am looking for advice on switching to the flexible route. I'm planning on handing in my notice this week (and working out my month notice) before applying for more temporary contracts in various councils instead. The only thing holding me back is not knowing anyone who has done the flexible route and exactly the procedure for the switch from TIS to flexible route. If anyone has either done the flexible route or more specifically switched from TIS to the flexible route I would be very grateful for any information. In particular anything about how difficult/easy the switch was, if you applied to multiple different councils for supply and if you generally found it a fulfilling way to complete your probation? Thanks very much!
