Novels set in 1920s England (Y5/6)

Discussion in 'English' started by tad19, Jul 6, 2011.

  1. Can anyone suggest a suitable novel for Y5/6 children, which is set in 1920s England?
Anything I can find is American!
    Thanks!

  3. Roald Dahl's 'Boy' - albeit autobiography, it reads like a novel.

    'Cider With Rosie'

'A Child's Christmas in Wales' (short story) - Dylan Thomas

Assorted 'Biggles' stories (some blurring into the Thirties there but what the hell).

  4. Thanks. I remember Cider with Rosie from my GCSE days!
