Nook or Kobo e-readers?

Let me preface this by saying I have a 3G Kindle and love it (when it dies I may consider a Paperwhite for the reading in the dark aspect). My daughter is considering spending her pocket money on an e-reader and WH Smith have a Kobo for £30 and Currys have a Nook for £29. Does anyone have any experience with either of these? She is looking for something cheap that she can take on holiday and at home use alongside her heaving bookshelves. If they are rubbish I may swap my Kindle for her £30 and upgrade to the Paperwhite.

I have loads of books she would read already downloaded and I can happily use Calibre to convert. She is also looking at a load of the free classic lit books as well.

    Thanks
