I think so too. I think this is why she is tweeting that no one cares.

My friend sold up and travelled with her two young children of similar ages to Australia, Thailand and so many other places on her way from England back to South Africa.
They had a fantastic time. The quality time that they spent together as a family far exceeded what they were able to whilst in the rat race of teaching.
I recently came across the concept of a forest/outdoor school. It sounds amazing.
I think it was more her tweeting that no one cares that caused a stir.

Well they are sharing that dream with their children now.
It would be ridiculous and a poor indication of our education system if a children as young as these suffered educationally as a result of not being in school for a year but spent their time with parents whom are clearly well educated.

I disagree. There is a lot of culture there. And a lot of beautiful gardens, plus a wonderful bird park.
It's funny what gets glossed over at secondary school... i studies The Importance of Being Earnest for O Level, but it was a two year course done in less than 12 months. I couldn't recall that quote!

That said, parents are responsible for their cildren not the state
