    Dismiss Notice

No to Ofsted!

Discussion in 'Ofsted inspections' started by Joally, Jul 21, 2011.

  1. Is there any truth in the rumour that some are suggesting that the best form of industrial action would be for staff to strike when Ofsted appears?! Sounds utter genius to me - and could bring about a vital change - so come on unions start talking to each other PLEASE!!!

  3. I'm pretty sure that would be illegal given that there are 2 days notice of an inspection. I suppose unofficial action could be taken, but this would result in possible instant dismissal under current employment law as far as I know.

  4. This is a stupid suggestion.
What have you gone into teaching to do?
I hope you will say that you want to do the best for the pupils that you teach.

Ofsted is a necessary evil. The public need and deserve a body to ensure that their children are being served well by the system.
There are imperfections, yes. But the issue is ensuring that Ofsted serves schools well.

  5. Oh please pull the other one,
A school will be put in SM at the 'political' whim of Ofsted.

  6. No idea what this means I'm afraid.
