Has it been a problem in your school that the kids are constantly out on trips disrupting the lessons in other subjects? What about suggesting to the head that you have a couple of designated weeks during the year where the 'fun' (not academic) trips can happen so that everyone knows and can plan round them.
  2. It's never been an issue before, had a dip in exam results this year and this is their targeted intervention. All exam classes must be in classes and teachersof those classes can't be out with othr year groups. For example recently booked a KS3 trip on a Tuesday, and was told if it had been Monday I wouldn't have been allowed to go because I teach year 12. Luckily of the available dates I chose the Tuesday when I only teach KS3.
