New trainee - tips and suggestions

Discussion in 'Trainee and student teachers' started by ncotton2015, Jul 7, 2015.

  1. Hello,

    First time posting anything -

I am starting my salaried SCITT in Primary teacher training this September and have come from working for the past 8 years in further education mentoring students with autism and mental health. Any suggestions from trainees currently in post or due to start on ways to handle the transition from Further education to Primary.

I have transferable skills from my current position but am conscious that I will not be working with 18+ year olds.

    Thanks

I don't think you need to overthink this. Yes, it will be a different environment, but just go in there with an open mind and see what it's like working with younger children.
