"New Powers"

Discussion in 'Behaviour' started by cyberewok, Jan 31, 2014.

  1. I hear the following phrase constantly in online Education articles:

"The government said teachers now had more powers to deal with unruly pupils."

Could someone enlighten me as to what these "powers" are?

Here are the links to the current DfE guidelines. In the last few years there have been various amendments to the powers of schools to search and confiscate prohibited items, to detain without notice, and changes to the appeal process for excluded pupils.
