It doesn't seem to be garnering a great deal of publicity, but Jo Swinson has been elected leader of the Lib Dems, beating Ed Davey by 47,997 votes to 28,021.

Strangely that seems to leave Labour as the only party not to have had a woman as leader.

Has Nigel Farage undergone gender reassignment then?

A lot of votes were cast, compared with previous Lib Dem leadership elections. Clearly the Party has grown a lot recently. Well done, Jo Swinson.

Yes I believe Jo Swinson is a decent and principled politician which is rare these day.

Among the virtues of being a Lib-Dem MP, is the guarantee of a getting an important job title.

It is. They were acting, fill-in Leaders between death/resignation and leadership election, due to being the deputy leaders.

    Factually she's not, Red.

De jure she is not; de facto she is. Tory is as tory does, and she did a hell of a lot of torying and to this day thinks austerity is a good idea.

She voted more than Gove did for the Tory policies during the Coalition government. Check those facts Frank.

Only because she turned up to vote a lot more frequently than Gove or Hunt (We did this a few weeks ago already)
    Check those facts Red.
