I have received some copies of these new books and I have to say I'm very impressed. The layout is great and there is a nice selection of activities, some of which follow on from each other, and some are stand alone. I guess the idea is that you can pick ones that are suited to your students.

I'm a single member department and my first thought is that these could help me a lot when it comes to setting last minute cover lessons for illness etc.

So far they have released book 1 of the 'Themes to InspiRE' series, and the Christianity book in the 'Religions to InspiRE' series.

It is a shame that there is a wait till this time next year for book 2 to be released :(

I agree. I was really hoping to see all of the units over the three years to incorporate into my SOW for non-specialists. It is a bit annoying. I am just awaiting my first sample copies over the next few days. Looks like I have something to look forward tol

Not come across this series yet but I believe that Heinemann's 'Your RE' - (John Mayled et al) is due to be published next week (1 book covering whole of KS3) + CD Rom. May be a good idea to compare them before deciding.

How do you get sample copies?

They have sample pages to download - but I have ordered one copy of each as a sample - Sorry, I should have been more choosy in my wording!

I will be ordering a single copy of Your RE as well - as my own 'sample'.

Saying that, you can order e-inspection copies of some titles before they come into print. That way you can look at the whole textbook to get a feel of it before ordering. You would have to register on the website to take advantage of this service though. xx

  8. I can send you the content list for Books 2 and 3 to help you plan your SOW.
