  6. How about having separate subjects for FE and not just lump them all into one? It can take ages to go through hundreds of postings to find relevant postings and resources in the main subject section. As TES have created the FE Sub-section, why not now include subjects here too? It makes sense to me (and I'm sure many others too!
  7. The current view of the TES is that subject communities in FE and
skills are best served through the various bodies and organisations
that support the area of vocational specialism - in this case the
General Social Care Council. This is, of course, discriminating
against FE teachers as our colleagues in schools are provided with
subject communities. It also fails to recognise that there is a dearth
of opportunity to have dialogue and debate on the teaching of
engineering, construction, health, etc within professional bodies and
I was very much hoping that the Institute for Learning would provide
subject communities, but despite promises in this direction nothing has
ever materialised. It seems to me that if we must be a member of a
professional body for FE teachers, the least it could do would be to
provide for communities of practice through online fora.

  15. I think it would be interesting/helpful to have a forum for comments/questions/suggestions about university admissions/UCAS/Oxbridge entry and so on.
  16. What about a part-time / job-share forum.
This could be really useful in linking up potential job sharers, as well as for discussion of associated issues. So far I have found it all but impossible to find a job share partner, and having done a fairly extensive trawl of the internet have not been able to find a suitable site - maybe TES could fill the gap?
  17. Hello. i was wondering if there is a forum where you can welcome yourself and say something about your self? if not cold yo make a bit where you can do that.
  18. As there is a pregnancy forum and a baby and toddler forum, how about a general parenting forum?
  19. yeah good idea because then we can give advice to one another about parenting.
