New Edexcel GCSE Component Two - Monologues/Duologues

    Is anyone else thinking of exploring the monologue and duologue options in the new Edexcel GCSE Component Two? I was thinking of getting each student to do a group piece and a mono or duo as it might make sure they all get a chance to shine whilst being able to work as an ensemble in the group piece. What are your thoughts?

    Thanks very much

    I might be wrong, but I thought candidates had to do both?

    I just spoke to the lovely person at Edexcel and they told me that each student needs to take part in two performances of two different extracts from the same text, but it is up to you how you choose to organise it.

    For example;
    You could choose for the students to do two monologues/duologues
    You could choose for the students to do two group performances
    You could choose for the student to do one of each

    Hope that helps,
