New Duty for Schools on Careers Advice

Discussion in 'Secondary' started by Stacy191, May 13, 2012.

  1. How is your school/other schools in your area responding to the new duty to provide independant careers advice to schools. Do you have any examples of what will be delivered and how schools are implementing?

We have a former Connexions adviser who comes in and kids can see her if they need advice. Not sure how that gets paid for though.

  5. Thanks. Will this be the case from September when the new duty kicks in? I am in London and interested in knowing how other schools are responding to this and whether the local authority and/schools in the area are taking a strategic approach and what this might look like?

Given the financial situation for LAs do you think this will be a priority?
