  1. I am an NQT and am currently working as a supply teacher to help
tied me over until I find a permenant job. I am currently signed up to 1
agency and recently tried to sign up to another, but was told they
would be unable to use me due to a reference they had received.
    I
felt like I did really well on my PGCE year and this reference could
only have come from one place...my second school mentor. She approached
me the day BEFORE my final day in school to raise an issue with me
regarding one of my classes. Apparently the teacher had discussed with
her that I had not been as involved in the lesson as I should have been,
which is total rubbish. I made sure I spoke to the teacher every week
to discuss the content of the lesson and talk through any potential
problems/ordering of materials that might be required. She raved about
how brilliant it was that there were 2 pairs of hand in the classroom as
it allowed us to do more within the lesson and not once told me she was
unhappy with anything I was doing. Obviously this was a complete shock
to me as I was all set to finish on a high and my confidence was
shattered. I think it was really unfair and inappropriate for her to
raise this with me as I literally could not make any attempts to resolve
    the situation and redeem myself.

    Due to this now
affecting me being able to sign up to an agency and possible jobs I have
applied for, is it possible to use my sch 1 mentor as a reference
instead? I loved the school and they were really pleased with my work?
