Need ideas for evidence for the QTS Standards?

Discussion in 'Trainee and student teachers' started by Johners74, Feb 20, 2012.

  1. I posted this in the GTP forum but realised that PGCE students would miss it so I thought I'd better mention it in here too. A few years back I put together an online portfolio to help trainees doing ITT and trying to get their heads round the QTS Standards. It became popular and then the Standards all changed and I couldn't face doing it all again for some time.
    However, a good chunk of the half term holidays has been invested in making a new and improved version of this. Along with guidance on what the Standards actually mean and a load of suggestions for how to provide evidence for each you can also...
    - Upload evidence into your own portfolio;
    - Check off Standards when you feel you have sufficient evidence;
    - Add your own suggestions for evidence;
    - See a clear overall picture on where you are up to to help you plan where you need to invest your time and effort.
    - A blogging capacity (private or shared) for you to gather your reflective thoughts and ideas as you pass through ITT.
    A few other things will be added over the coming weeks including some pretty cool freebies.
    I am hopeful this will help with my trainees in my school, but anyone is welcome to use it. Use all the features, use just the suggestions, or don't use it at all! It is up to you but is free to access and use.

    This is really useful, thanks for sharing

  3. No problems. I hope it makes life easier.
    Speaking of making life easier, this morning I have made it easier to log in to your portfolio as you can use your Facebook account. One less username and password to remember is always helpful!
  4. Will this be updated for the 2012 standards?

    This looks really useful, I tried to join but it won't send me a email so can't log in!
  6. Thank you very much Johners74 for sharing such a valuable resource that you clearly invested a lot of time and effort into. The QTS standards here in Wales are slightly different in their context and arrangment however with a bit of reading and adapting the information can easily be applied. I will most definitley be reccomending this to others, thanks again!
