musical cues

Discussion in 'Special educational needs' started by Jodiec1984, Jan 1, 2012.

  1. Hi, We are currently trying to create a bank of musical cues - ie rhymes, songs for a selection of different topics. Next half terms topic is 'Fire and Ice' and we will be focusing on:
    Science - Materials (freezing/melting, floating/sinking)
    Geography - Arctic Worlds
    Art - Colour and Texture
PHSE - People who help us
I work in an SLD school with children between 7 and 9 years. Would be grateful if anyone can think of a simple rhyme/song that we could sing or listen to when learning about each of the different focuses - or a general one connected to 'Fire and Ice'.
    Many Thanks
    Jodie

Have you listened to the music for Torville and Dean's full length "ballet on ice" called "fire and ice" (1986). There may be a useful generic introduction to the topic in there?
