music project

    how about pop music that uses/is inspired by classical music? Gangsta's paradise, So Natural etc.

    Film music is always a good topic as students can really relate to the visual aspect. If you have a DAW (Logic, Cubase etc.) import a section of a film or trailer for them to compose to.
    Give them a structure - bass ostinato, melody (instrumentation) and drums.
    Either that or a cartoon which they like to do too

    I have done Club Dance music with younger students too. Easy to relate to current music that they will engage with!
