MPS 6 & shortlisted!

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by Lison, Jun 29, 2011.

  1. I just wanted to make my first post (hello) to say:
    Thanks Theo!
I followed the advice in the clickables section and I've got an interview next week for a brilliant job as HoD. I'm MPS 6 (there is hope) I teach a subject where there are usually only one or two members of staff and I'm not currently teaching the subject I have an interview for, though it is my specialism. I'm not actually in a classroom teaching post at the moment either, though I do work with children and teach as part of my job. I'd love to teach 'properly' again as I really miss it, which is why I applied for the job!
I'm astounded, grateful and very excited.
I'm actually looking forward to it. Does that mean I'm odd?
Please don't give up all you lovely, experienced, passionate folk. I hope there's hope. I'll see how I get on...

  2. Excellent news Lison!

You might well find that you are in a strong position here as it is now after the date when employed teachers can hand in their notice, and the school aren't going to want an nqt for a HOD role. They might be relieved you applied!

    Keep us all updated.

Agree with Rowntreegirl chances of finding poeple suitable will be thin on the ground at this point, but still go in and do your very best.
Not at all, that's why we're in education isn't it?
