I’m due to move up to UPS2 this term and was wondering if there was any specific criteria or task needed to move up. I’ve checked the pay and conditions policy and there doesn’t appear to be anything specific. Any advice would be appreciated.

Check the performance management/appraisal policy, it should be in there. It’s usually something like two successful appraisals and continuing to meet teacher’s standards at a high level of competence. It should be discussed with you at your PM meeting.

This is a conversation to have with your line manager / performance manager / head (depending on how convoluted your school leadership structure is!). The notion of being "due" to move up isn't relevant these days - think of it as being "eligible subject to performance" :)

If you mean STPCD, it doesn't even mention UPS2 - just the limits of the Upper Pay Range. How schools decide where people should be on this is up to them. But you should have a pay policy somewhere which will tell you.
