Moving to the USA from the UK to be a teacher

Discussion in 'Teaching abroad' started by courtneygowland, Oct 14, 2018.

  1. Hi,

I recently studied in the State of Georgia and met my current partner. I graduate next year with a Bachelors degree in English and Creative Writing. In September 2019, I will be doing a Teacher Training Program for 10 months to receive a PGCE which will give me Qualified teacher status and allow me to teach English in Secondary/High Schools. With this, I will also have had a Security Enhanced DBS check. How easy is it for me to get a job in the US?

This is also taking into consideration that in a couple of years my boyfriend and I may possibly be married and I will be on a green card before applying for permanent residency.

Thanks so much for your help and advice. I just don't really have any idea where to start.
