Moving from supply to LEA contract

Discussion in 'Pay and conditions' started by salimali15, Mar 27, 2011.

  1. Since qualification in June 09, I've been working as a Primary supply for agencies and my local LEA. If I get a contract/permanent (holy grail!!) for September would I start on MPS1 or would I be on MPS3 as it is my third year of teaching? Any help would be much appreciated.

If some of your work has been directly for an LEA then they should have been paying you on the mainscale. If you did enough work in each year for them (at least one session in each of 26 different weeks in an academic year) then you would be entitled to move up the pay scale, just as if you had been contracted. If, however, you have not, then it will be the discretion of the school.
