Mothers' Day writing competition - north west primaries

Discussion in 'Primary' started by sarateiger, Mar 8, 2011.

  1. Four shopping centres in the north west have teamed up to ask primary pupils why ‘mum knows best’.

Middleton Shopping Centre, north Manchester, Fishergate, in Preston, Market Place Bolton and Grange & Pyramids in Birkenhead are running writing competitions for local primary schools ahead of Mothers’ Day on 3 April.

Budding young wordsmiths can win prizes for their mum and for their school - as well as media coverage in local papers and on the radio - by writing in a variety of styles, including a poem, a short story, an interview, a newspaper article, an advert or a poster. All entries must follow the ‘mum knows best’ theme.

Entries will be judged on their originality, creativity and general appeal and the best entries will be displayed in the shopping centres from Friday 25 March.

All submissions must be delivered to the shopping centres' information points by Wednesday 23 March. The winning schools will be contacted by Friday 25 March.

The competition is open to all primary schools in Middleton, Preston, Bolton and Wirral.

All queries are to be directed to Tom McGrath on 07595 219266 or tom.mcgrath@pixel8ltd.com
