Mornington Crescent

Discussion in 'Entertainment' started by craftyangel, Jun 13, 2011.

  1. I declare a game of Mornington Crescent.
Turners rules apply which means vertical hyperturns are allowed.
    Starting with...
    Elephant & Castle.

    Excellent idea craftyangel.
A south of the river opening gambit... very interesting.
    In that case I'll go:
    Canning Town.

  3. Yes, a splendid idea, but do you realise that your variation means that in two moves after crossing the river the game will inevitably end? So, to keep it going now,
    New Cross

  4. Nice.
    Oxford Circus. A classic.

Very cunning, the old ones are often the best.
    White City.

  6. Oh dear! There's no alternative now to
    Mornington Crescent.
    --------------------------------------------
The problem that I foresaw in post #3 could have been averted by declaring The Drain open only in the City direction. If that is acceptable, I should like to begin (topically) at
    Wimbledon

  7. Oh damn, you snuck in there! Well done.
Ok, from Wimbledon I go.... Baker Street.

  8. Tricky, eh? I'll be generous and give you plenty of scope by going to
    Alperton

  9. Well if I don't want to cut off my diagonals and put myself in nip I have to go Green Park.

  10. Another tricky one, and well worth waiting for. What can you do with
    Oxford Circus
    ?

  11. I will pop along to Hanger Lane to look for a new car.

  12. Harrow-on-the-Hill (for lunch at The Old Etonian - if it's still there.)

  13. i envoke mortimer's shift and pass to camden parkway

  14. Not under this version, surely? Still, I shan't enforce the penalty, and go to
    Ickenham

  15. you're right sorry i was going by variation 3 and we're clearly playing variation two with the 5th ammendment. My mistake. I play Westminster.

  16. Hammersmith Broadway.
Yes. Allowing variation two, even amended, that should be safe enough.

  17. in that case Pinner

  18. Baffling, eh?
    Northfields

  19. Mornington Crescent!!

  20. Can't believe I missed something so obvious!
Start again with normal rules, except that we'll have the Jubilee reflective crossover.
    Parson's Green
