More Grammar schools?

Discussion in 'Secondary' started by jacksm8, Apr 4, 2012.

  1. I found myself in a heated discussion the other day when I said I liked Grammar schools.

There are two types of learners (oversimplification I know)
    [*] Academic
    [*] Practical

If Grammar schools focus on the students who want 10 GCSEs the rest of the system could radically change.

Lets have a new secondary system with NO GCSES. Stick to properly funded, industry linked truly vocational education. Obviously incorporating some suitable elements of core subjects. Lets develop some small specialist schools. Lets stop so many under achieving.

And if you are one of those screaming second class citizen - you need to address your own problems. A GCSE is not the only way to prove intelligence.
