Missing PPA/NQT time as nobody to cover it... is this allowed?

Discussion in 'New teachers' started by blueberries, Jun 1, 2011.

  1. Just wondered if schools were allowed to do this? Can I ask for the time back?
I lost my whole PPA afternoon as the person who usually covers was ill and not able to come in. They tried to find someone else to cover but couldn't.
Can I ask for it back? I haven't dare ask as I don't want to cause a problem. I think the school assumed I would make the time up over half term ( which I have been able to :) ) but a few of my friends who I have mentioned it to think it was wrong!?

  2. Every now ansd then there is an unforseen problem and a situation that cannot easily be resolved and we have ton be flexible - but there should be a plan to redeem this in your favour - so an undertaking to give you back the time in a useful block of time to work towards the induction standards.
