Minibeasts - Year 1

Discussion in 'Primary' started by giraffe77, Feb 15, 2012.

  1. Just trying to sort my medium-term planning for this half-term, and was just wondering if anyone's got any ideas for some history, geography or an AT1 investigation to go with a minibeasts topic. I have loads of reception ideas from a previous half-term's planning, but I have Year 1 this time too, so need to 'step it up a notch'!

Could you do something with fossils? Maybe insect fossils through the ages? Timeline?

Foe geography could link it to school environment - making it more minibeast friendly, look at minibeasts in different climates?
Mark on a map of the school grounds/local park the places where you found minibeasts.
