minibeast garden

Discussion in 'Primary' started by bex2606, Dec 30, 2010.

  1. We made a minibeast hotel from pallets filled with rocks, pipes and twigs. This idea and some others are on this website http://www.wildlondon.org.uk/Miniguides/Creatingahabitatwall/tabid/443/language/en-GB/Default.aspx
A rock garden might also be a good idea.
The children could be encouraged to investigate what kind of conditions a particular minibeast likes and make areas to suit them.
I would get in touch with any local conservation groups as they may be able to come in and do some work with you. In Bradford there is a group called Habitat Heroes.
Thought some of the stuff on here might be of use http://www.littlerotters.org.uk/pdfs/MInibeast%20mag.pdf
