mini beasts

  1. Hi all, I am new to Nursery. we are starting a new topic on mini beasts based on our childrens interests. Does anyone have any wonderful ideas/resources to share? Many thanks in advance!

A heap of sticks and stones on open soil will soon be inhabited by a variety ofncreepy crawlies.Plastic mini beasts hidden around the garden, children have butterfly nets and go on bug hunts "We're going on a bug hunt...", match mini beasts to photos, use magnifying glasses and have recording cards.Collect snails, place in tank with a lid with bits of greenery. Children observe, draw, gently play with the snails, you observe the children, supporting the descriptive language.Worm farm.Butterfly larvae available from Internet suppliers, with butterfly home.
