Treaty of Le Touquet is just between GB & France.

The former Ambassador is free to speak his mind - are you implying he wouldn't tell the truth as he sees it based on his years of experience?

Things have moved on since then.

    Nope
I'm suggesting that his comments are an opinion only and as such could well be coloured by other considerations

    Jejune
The worst word in the English language, jejune just bleeds pomposity and snobbery.

Just heard on Classic FM news - overall migration to the UK is down for the year to December 2015

    Yes. But down from what?

    Dear god!

You may think so. It's big issue. I don't think it's bigger than cuts to public services and increasing privatisation.

Chicken and egg? I think I know which came first. And it wasn't war in Syria.

No. The RATE of migration is down, but migration numbers are still increasing (although not as fast as they were previously).

Unlike the BBC, of course, that refuses to use any words hinting at the ethnicity of the Cologne attackers? The BBC, that paragon of virtue! That paragon of virtue that knowingly allowed countless lives to be ruined while it let the likes of Savile, Hall and Harris (ironically, that sounds like a children's TV show) molest and rape unhindered for decades. That BBC? I'll stick to my Daily Mail, thank you very much. That reminds me! I haven't had my quick flick through yet. I'm sure I'll find something in there to share with you all, dear friends!
