Mention previous interview at the same school on new application?

    Dear Theo

I'm currently applying for a job at a school where I had an interview last year. I didn't get the job but I felt the day went very well and the feedback I received was very positive; the person they employed was better qualified for the role (2 i/c of a big department) and more experienced but I gathered that I'd created a very positive impression.

The new role they're advertising is for a KS co-ordinator (the same as my current role) and so a notch down from the position last year. My question is, should I mention last year on my application? I think it shows good commitment to the school and it also just feels a bit odd to not mention it.

    Any advice appreciated! Thanks.

Disappointing last time, but nice to get a second chance!

I think you could mention it, but not too directly. By this I mean, tag it on to a comment about . . . well anything really! .... as I was pleased to see last year when I visited the school, could be one way for example.

Have you seen all the applications articles?

Thanks, that's most helpful. And cheers for the article links too, I'll be checking them out before the application gets sent out into the world.
