Mens smart school boots/shoes with grip

Discussion in 'Secondary' started by AwakeDreamingUK, Feb 13, 2012.

  1. Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong board to post this in.

With all the snow/ice we had last week, I came to the conclusion that my usual smart shoes with no grip are slightly silly to wear when it is slippery. However, most shoes/boots with don't seem to have any grip on them. Can anyone recommend a pair of shoes/boots that grip relatively well in slippery conditions but also look smart and professional?

I wear my DM walking boots to and from school and then change into my usual 'school' shoes once at school. The pathways etc at school are all cleared of snow and gritted in cold weather.

    Use these: http://www.yaktrax.co.uk/

You can also get cheaper versions like these - http://www.amazon.co.uk/YWS-Spike-Shoes-Crampons-Cleats/dp/B005UNGIUI/ref=sr_1_26?ie=UTF8&qid=1329166024&sr=8-26 - which I wear (less fiddly to put on as well).

docs or cats (black ones for each make) are smart enough to wear in class, but are sturdy enough to grip!
