Men in Film - Contemporary suggestions please for representation

Discussion in 'Media studies' started by multitasker, Mar 2, 2012.

  1. 'Killer Elite' - awful movie but great for stereotypes of gender, race and culture. And, it's not been out long.
The 'Transformers' movies are useful (the majority of the characters are male as it appears are the robots - the women tending to be eye candy, un-sexual, sadly hysterical or icy cold). Or, 'The Hangover' films?

  2. Thanks for the suggestions. Just ordered 'Grown Ups' off Amazon so will see what that has to offer. Transformers may be good as all the students watch it but maybe they can do their own analysis of it. Not sure I can bring myself to watch it!
