Meeting the Core Standards for new NQTs in 2012

Discussion in 'New teachers' started by batcat, Apr 18, 2012.

  1. I hope someone out there can help.
I heard that the core standards for teachers have been changed... but I cannot find out what the new standards are. I have looked on the TDA website which is out of date...

Does anyone have a link to the appropriate NEW document please?

For NQTs who will begin their induction, what are the new standards that they will need to meet to pass their induction year?

    thanks

    Hi BC

Have a look on the Dept for Education website:

At the moment the plan is for the new standards to be in force from 1st September and would cover any NQT yet to complete induction.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

You wouldn't have to start again. But your 3rd term would be completed under the new regulations, not the ones you started on.

  7. If you are part way through induction when the new standards come into force then you simply complete your induction against the new standards. You will not lose any 'banked' time on induction so far.

  8. Does this also apply in Wales? Having looked at the documet on the DfE website, it looks very similar to the one we currently have in Wales...

  9. Hello HTH,
Sorry i have not replied earlier. I have not logged into the forum for a while now... and totally forgot that I had asked a question.
Thank you for your response and for the link. I will give it a look at it immediately.

  10. Hi HTH,
Thanks for your help...but when I looked at the document on the Dept for Education that you recommended... it appears to be a copy of the document on the TDA website... intro talks about standards from 2007.
So it does not look like the new standards which are to be in effect in Sept 2012.
I tried contacting the telephone at the bottom of the document to confirm this and the number is no longer in use.
So the question still remains: where is the latest document for the new standards? Please anyone?

    Thanks.
