MEETING NEW CLASS - YEAR 3

  2. I think what you're planning sounds good. I did a transition day last year and I did similar activities with a few music, maths and team based problem solving games thrown in.
    I'm meeting my new year 4 class at my new school next week too. Only spending one hour with them and not entirely sure what I'm going to do with them yet but I'm thinking I'll do a get-to-know-you chat including a very brief powerpoint about me which will include some funny (yet appropriate for school) pictures and a bit of information about my interests. Hopefully, this will lead quite nicely into a short art activity where children decorate a 'coat of arms' to express their interests or alternatively, I'll get them to complete a 'passport to year 4'. If there is any remaining time, I'm going to play some guitar and do some singing with the children as this normally goes down really well. I'd also appreciate some thoughts on this. Cheers!
