Mature NQT having had cancer

Discussion in 'Pay and conditions' started by Milly06, May 2, 2011.

  1. Hi can anyone advise me - I am in my final year of my degree and need to start job hunting. However I had to intermitt from my 3rd year originally as I was diagnosed with cancer which was successfully (yeah!!) treated and I returned to do this year hoping to move on and avoid recurrence - no indication can be given such is the nature of this dreadful disease. I am unsure of the protocol about declaring my illness in interview etc. I don't want to hide it as I am aware that I will have to complete a medical declaration but I don't necessarily want to raise it in interview if I don't have too - for many obvious reasons. Anyone have any opinions or experience? Cheers
