Hi my nephew has a holiday booked in the November maths resits ( He needs a 7 to get into chosen university, he currently has a 6) will he be able to take earlier or is this not possible?

    Not possible.

Why is he on holiday in term time?

    Stupid question.
He is obviously more concerned with enjoying life than studying so University is not for him.
Anyone who has been in education for 13 years should know that you do not go on holiday in term time, let alone the examination period.

If he's already year 13, he may not have been expecting just to be having a gap year next year. Although he must have known for while that he needed this grade, so it's surprising he wasn't taking it in June - but perhaps he didn't realise there are only two chances each year and just thought he'd put it off until after his A-levels.

If he really can't shift the holiday, I think iGCSE exams might be in October, and the university might well accept that instead. However the problem then is finding an exam centre who will allow him to sit it there.
