    Hello authors

We’ve noticed that there’s been some confusion over the different types of mastery in primary maths resources available on Tes, so we’re writing to you to explain what we’re working on.

There are currently two different mastery in primary maths offerings on Tes, that while complementary, are independent of each other.

The first is a project that we launched back in January, to create a dedicated mastery in primary maths space at tes.com/teaching-resources/teaching-for-mastery-in-primary-maths, in response to the increasing interest in, and need from teachers for, mastery resources. The resources offered in this space offer a mix of free and paid materials shared by teachers including those that are freely shared by White Rose Maths and Mathematics Mastery.

The second is a pilot programme that we recently launched in response to the huge demand that we were receiving from teachers for comprehensive packs of mastery in primary maths materials. We took on the feedback from our teacher community and launched a campaign offering paid resource packs and bundles created by individual authors who specialise in mastery. This pilot programme was launched to complement the existing free mastery space, but the two partners White Rose Maths and Mathematics Mastery have no involvement in the creation of the paid resources.

After a preliminary pilot period, feedback from teachers who are using the comprehensive packs of mastery resources is positive, so we’d like to expand this programme to add further paid materials. We’re still setting this up, but we’d love to invite more authors who specialise in mastery to get involved. If this is you, please send an example of your mastery resources to be considered for inclusion to authors@tes.com.

We hope this provides some clarity for you and also an opportunity to get involved in a new and exciting project that will benefit many teachers.

    Best wishes

This is a step in the right direction and I have emailed you some links @TES Resource Team. Why have you only promoted the "new" authors though? They have only been on here since September. Some of us have been on here for more than 3 years...

@TES Resource Team Thank you for the explaining clearly what is happening. I think for some of us it was getting annoying that these resources were getting such promotion and it didn't seem fair and equal for all authors. I personally had no problem with the authors themselves, they have obviously worked hard on their resources but it felt like wherever I looked on any page I clicked on, there was another one of their resources!

You say that, "This pilot programme was launched to complement the existing free mastery space, but the two partners White Rose Maths and Mathematics Mastery have no involvement in the creation of the paid resources." Does this mean that we too are able to create resources that link in with WRM even if we are not chosen to be part of your expansion? I haven't made anything because I thought it might have copyright issues.

On a completely different note, if you wanted to know how successful your new push on getting buyers to review and leave feedback, have a look at some of your pilot programme's statistics - out of 47 733 downloads, 96 reviews! Such a shame, thank you for your efforts anyway. Please keep pushing buyers to leave feedback and ratings - it means a lot to us.
