I am pregnant and on a temporary contract that is currently due to end when I will be 28 weeks' pregnant (a week too early to officially start maternity leave). We have been told that temporary staff's contracts will not be being renewed and my contract wouldn't be renewed anyway with me being pregnant. Where does that leave me with maternity pay? Will I still be able to claim SMP? I will have nearly three years' of continuous service by then, but returned from my last maternity leave in September. I'm a bit worried that I might not be able to claim anything. Thank you in advance!
