Maternity Pay

Discussion in 'Parenting' started by cococherry, Apr 12, 2011.

  1. Hello everyone,
I am due in September with my first baby when I will be on M5. I also work in greater London. Would anyone mind sharing their take home pay when on half pay plus smp. Am trying to work out finances and how much time I will be able to take off but it's all so confusing!
    Many thanks

  2. Look up tafkam's pay calculator to get your 50%, then add the SMP on top of that- it's £123 a week I think. It probably won't be exact, but it's close enough as the pay calculator is very accurate. Will try and find a link.

My SL completely stopped when I started maternity leave without me having to do anything. My union and I think they all do this, give you 6 months free but you will need to ring them up which I have not done yet and due back at work soon!!!
