Maternity pay and TLR

    Hello everyone,

I was just wondering about maternity pay. I've had a letter to say that I will be paid 90% of my salary for 4 weeks. However, I have a TLR too but that doesn't count towards my salary but as an added responsibility. Will my maternity pay be based on basic salary or TLR salary?

    Thanks!

It should be on your whole salary. The TLR is part of your regular salary, which is made up of the amount relevant to your position on the pay scale and any extra allowances such as TLR/R&R.

I agree. And if @natmour is working on Burgundy Book conditions (national 'Conditions of Service for School Teachers in England and Wales') para 10.1 in the Maternity Scheme section confirms that.

Query it with HR initially, then involve your union.
