    Hello,

    First time mum here :)

I’m due to go on maternity leave in November. How will my pay work? Will I some sort of pay until I return?

Any comments / advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

You will need to check with your school, but the standard is generally full pay for 3 months, half pay for 3 months, then no pay for 6 months.

Also, just a little warning, you cannot reliably predict or plan exactly when your maternity leave will start, it is out of your control to a certain extent.

    Best wishes, and congratulations

    xx

    Hey,

It depends on what type of school you work in, how long and what your contract is.

You may be entitled to two things.

    Smp: 4 weeks full pay
    Smp: 2 weeks at 90%
Enhanced pay: from employer 12 weeks half pay
Smp for 39 weeks in total. Usually about 145 a week after the first 6 weeks.

This means you do not get any pay for the last 3 months.

    xx
