Marking/Correction Codes

Discussion in 'Primary' started by dougaldog1, Jan 10, 2012.

  1. We have been asked to create a marking code to use in infant classes. Do any of you use these and if so what do you include?
    Thanks

  3. We use one, in secondary. It includes:
    P + (Missing puncuation)
    Sp (Spelling error)
    // (New paragraph)
    C (Missing or misplaced capital letter)
    T (Target)
    Tick (well done)Double tick (Very well done)

    I draw squares with different codes in them for my year 1's...
    A square with a dot in it means check punctuation.
    A square with a capital A in it means check/remember capital letters.
    A square with a joined up o + u in it means join up or try to use neater handwriting.
    A square with a picture of a finger in it means use finger spaces.
    and finally a square with sp in it means check or use sensible spelling.
    We talk about the symbols during writing lessons and I use them to talk about what I am looking for or individual targets.
