Making a Steak Pie for Boxing Day, HELP!!

  1. Hi all Merry Christmas
    I am in charge of Boxing Day dinner and I am making Steak Pie (lots of roast going on the rest of the week so needed something a bit different)
    Any way I plan to put the steak on tomorrow night in the Slow Cooker with a bottle of red wine. My question is, do I put the steak in seasoned flour and then brown it off in a dish before I put it in the slow cooker or do I just put it straigh into the cooker?
    I want a nice thick gravy but unsure how to do it. Any help warmly recieved xx
     
  2. Yep, roll it in seasoned flour just as you would for a normal stew/pie mix.
    Remember you don't have to put all the juice into the pie. You can save some back and make gravy to pour over it!
