Make Reports Unit Fun!

Discussion in 'English' started by nataliekoullapis, Mar 6, 2012.

  1. Hiya,

I hope someone out there can help! I am in the middle of my GTP course and I am trying to plan for the Year 3 Reports Unit in Literacy but I want to make it exciting for the children! It always seems to be that unit where everyone thinks 'oh no... not reports!!!' and I want to change that.
However, I am not sure where to start or how to even begin planning it. What do you begin with?
I feel that I should be a pro at planning by now but I am struggling with Literacy planning.

Erm...choose a topic they're interested in? Even better, let them choose! They could make/present a short documentary on their topic and the writing could come from that. I'm not sure of the brief for a Y3 report so hope this isn't totally off the mark...
